In honor of “Mama Shortz”

On March 11, 2021, our TLI Family lost one of our pillars. Mama Shortz (mother to Laura (Shortz) Delehanty) was not only family but also a friend and mentor.

Whether it was helping us out at East High School with all of Laura and Dan’s crazy ideas, leading tutoring, or inviting us over for a great meal at her house, Mama Shortz always let you know you were supported and loved.

Though she is no longer with us physically, we can all smile, knowing that the TLI family and many others have gained another angel looking over us. We love you and miss you, Mama Shortz.

In honor of her memory and years of service, the family invites donations in lieu of flowers to support future urban educators through the TLI Foundation. Any amount given would help us further our mission to grow the next generation of educators to serve our community.
